For the first time ever in the U.S., St. Louis Cathedral will hold an Olive Mass on Sept. 26 to celebrate the hospitality industry and those who work in it. For the first time ever in the U.S., St. Louis Cathedral will hold an Olive Mass on Sept. 26 to celebrate the hospitality industry and those who work in it.
The Catholic church holds similar masses for other professions, including a Red Mass for those in the legal field, a Blue Mass for law enforcement and a White Mass for medical professionals.
The Olive Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at the cathedral, followed by a reception at the Ursuline Convent from noon until 3 p.m. The events are free and open to the public.
